The Universitae Celotura in Biliat, the royal seat of Mirgath, is renowned for its literary treasures! A vast repository spanning multiple floors, including subterranean levels, offers ages of knowledge for those who know how to find the right books. Generations of archivists and curators have introduced their own systems of order to the university's enormous book collections, tirelessly working to undo the systems of their predecessors. This almost 'Curators' War' of action and reaction has led to thousands of books being lost in the depths of the archives, undiscoverable on shelves that made sense a hundred years ago but whose logic has since been lost. Private traders and the wealthy often built libraries so grand they could pass as mansions.

The archive house of the Meleran trading dynasty, which conducts business with the entire world from Biliat, is a beautiful example of a design combining the simplicity of a greenhouse with the sustainability of a library. Illusion crystals in the center allow stories to float through the room like silent colorful canaries in the form of gliding books. A breathtaking sight. At the heart of this archive house stands a magnificent Okuga tree, symbolizing the connection between paper and tree. It can be seen as a knowledgeable graveyard guardian, honoring all the trees that have fallen for the preservation of knowledge. The Ricante, a tree that mainly draws its water from the air rather than its roots, is suited to grow in barren soils and maintains a dry, book-preserving humidity in libraries. A win-win situation.

How to use this Library?

This library is not only beautiful but also serves as a stage for countless exciting ideas. It could be a meeting point in a school campaign, from where students plan their adventures. It might also belong to an eccentric noble, from whom an important book or quest item must be stolen at night. Here, a battle could unfold across multiple floors against book-beings, villains from history brought to life and projected into our world through magic.

I've been working on the Shadow Realm Maps for quite some time now and initially planned to release them this month. However, as I delved deeper into crafting this super cool and eerie place, I kept discovering even more fascinating perspectives that I wanted to include in the release. This realization led me to decide to launch it later and invest more time into it. So, you can look forward to this exciting location, perfect for numerous horror scenarios, nightmare sequences, or planar travels.
