Project Plan November

It's the usual game. One release is over, the next one begins! We are now back to an SKA-focused development month. As mentioned before, the last update was the bad-end part of the new Roland events. We will now focus on events that happen after completing Nothing But The Truth in Roland's favor. 1.3 is expected to be in development for 4 months, so probably come out in Feburary.

Week 1: There are a couple of items I have been wanting to work on but never had the time for it because I was always so busy working down my list of other work items. In this week, I finally want to take a look at these minor items on my list.

First, you will notice that later parts of SKA do more panning and zooming while earlier parts basically never do that. The reason for that is that RPGMaker doesn't provide a layering system for images out of the box, so all pictures need to be moved manually or via a script which is really annoying. However, I have in the past developed a layering system which newer scenes (and Liora) heavily make use of, making it a lot easier to make such effects. In particular static scenes like the Paulina Training scenes which have 1 base CG used 4 times could heavily profit from some more movement I believe. So I want to revisit some of the scenes this week and see if I can get some more value out of our CGs.

The second item is more a behind the scenes thing: Improving my automation workflows. The thing about automation is that you always have to upfront pay a lot of investment and then it takes a long time of repeating tasks to get that investment back. I have already automated a lot of things that I know other nsfw developers do manually (e.g. building/deploying/uploading new builds) and those "big wins" have been worth the upfront investment (plus I knew how to do them from my previous dayjob). There are other areas where the gains are smaller and I'm less familiar with the tools or APIs involved. For example, my exporting workflow from artist psd files to game image files is uhhh... primitive and also the cause of quite a few bugs (like the latest incorrectly named side tail files in Liora...). So setting up some batch exporting should be helpful.

Another thing I want to look into is interacting with the patreon API. Every month, I manually invalidate the links for the mega downloads and manually replace them in the posts. I was wondering it it was possible to automate that monthly rotation of links.

Week 2: Then we will be diving back into the creation of new lewd scenes: Aura will receive a reward from Roland if she gets a guilty verdict on Lorraine and unlock the Latex Costume here along with a new sex scene that will replace the old repeat scene. Then I plan on focusing on Lorraine who will be receiving some "improvements" by Roland and the Magic Academy's helmet. I don't think I will be able to finish the event line this week, so the final batch including an Aura + Lorraine x Roland sex scene will be in the next dev cycle.

Week 3: Then we will be continuing the trend of stealing some time for Liora. Our artist deniis will be working on the Titjob CG variation of the sexual service event. Independently of he finishes it for this week or not, I will be writing the variations for the event. (They won't be too big in terms of word count, as they are both variations of the same scene)

Besides that, I will be doing some more infrastructure work to reduce technical debt. Last update saw a lot new mechanics, events, etc added, so I will be reviewing some parts to identify smells for improving the code mostly to reduce unnecessary duplication.

Finally, there will also be a new quest: Clinical Trials. This will be a story-wise simple quest where Rean will need to take various potions with negative effects to help the Hospital with improving their treatment of the Decay. (Probably in exchange reducing the weekly treatment costs by 1 stack of treatment)

Week 4: And then we will close out the month with general polish work. I haven't nailed down yet what I will be working on, but since we developed the new wiki submenu last month for Liora and our assistant developer will be moving it over to SKA, I will probably need to do some iterating of it.

Then, on the side of our freelancers:

RPGMaker Dev

Our assistant developer Trihan is currently focusing reducing the number of manual system message text boxes (Like when picking up gold or an item) in SKA to make life a bit easier for our translators. He will also be working on a translator tool mod that will come with some special buttons to input translations in-game or reload a translation without restarting the game.

Finally, as mentioned above, he will be working on initializing the new ingame wiki from Liora for SKA.

2D Art

I have created a new art plans for both of our artists that cover the upcoming months.

On the SKA side, we will be starting off with the Twin Tails Alt Hair for Earth. This commission is currently in discussion with our artist. After that, the queue is mostly filled with CGs for the remaining new Roland events.

In case we have some budget and time left over, I have also added some lower priority items into the queue. One would be an extra CG for the Maid Bad End featuring Alicia post-maid transformation, another replacing the default RPGMaker Game Over screen with something custom, and finally, adding a first non-h CG into the game that would show Alicia in a fashion magazine.

Should we have the resources, I will probably then do a poll to determine a ranking of these options.

As for Liora, we have three straightforward main goals for the next two months:

Items marked with (?) may get dropped if we run behind schedule. After we finished those, we can then tackle the currently blacked out Ariadne Training event.

Aaaaand that's the plan for the month (and upcoming months for our artists).

Comments

https://www.patreon.com/posts/long-term-post-1-119783341 There wouldn't be much of a benefit to work on Liora every month as our artist would not be able to keep up.

Is SKA almost "finished"? I really only joined for Liora and I see a ton of focus on a game that already is listed as a full version.

Nice, thank you

很有意思的游戏,我在steam上游玩的时间快超过一些大型游戏的时间了,希望第二部也能延续这作风格
