Discord Server, Patrons-Only Early Access

The Discord server is live and Patreon integration activated!

If everything worked, you should have been joined and assigned the appropriate Discord role, automatically.

If not, you may still have to link Discord to your Patreon account—but only if you actually want to join the server, of course.

Something is not working?

First of all, if you can't follow any of the Discord steps/instructions, i.e. because some channel does not show up for you, or something like that, just let me or Maniko (moderator) know!

So, I'm on the Discord server. What now?

You should have the necessary patreon role, which gives you access to the "Beta Info" channels: Head to the #readme channel, for the rules and instructions, if you want to join the early access and testing.

To get a Steam key, write a message in #key-requests: It's just a show of hands and doesn't have to be a thoughtful message, or anything!

I have requested a Steam key, how/when do I get it?

I'll go through the requests and answer them, manually: So you may typically have to wait anything between a minutes and a few hours—I might be asleep, after all, heh.

When I run out of keys to give out, I will also have to request new ones from Steam, in which case there will be an extra wait of a couple of days, or so.

Once your key request is approved, you will receive a DM with your personal key, from a Discord bot ("Voltair"). So, don't be surprised! This is just so I don't have to open 100 private conversations with people and can get a more manageable log, in Discord, heh.

Do I have to actively test, write bug reports, etc.?

Oh, of course not! If you want to help out, it's massively appreciated, but it's entirely voluntary!

For now, the Discord server will only/mostly be accessible to patrons, but some time later I want to invite more volunteer testers, too, who will use the same channels, etc.

So if you just want to play the game a little and have fun, that's perfectly fine! (Just keep it somewhat confidential, heh.)

What happens to my Steam key if I cancel my Patreon subscription?

Nothing!

The way I have set up the Discord server and roles you will be able to continue to access the "Beta Testing" channels, even if you stop being actively subscribed!

Likewise, I don't plan to revoke someone's key just for canceling their subscription, I've decided—with maybe the exception of grave rule-breaking, I don't intend to touch the revoke button, at all!

What happens to my Steam key after the Beta has ended or the game gets released?

Nothing!

You get a key, you own the game—there's nothing special about these Steam keys, really.
