Which PS4/PS5 Controller Icon Style Do You Prefer?

Note: This is not confirming a PlayStation 5 port. In fact, I can pretty much promise the game will never come to PlayStation or Xbox, sorry. But if you want to use their controllers to play on PC—yippie!

DualShock/DualSense Controller Support

On the weekend, I have bought a PS5 controller to add to my collection and test the game with. This makes it easier for me to make sure the game works fine with this style of controller. (And if it works with DualSense, it should work with DualShock, too.)

If a DualShock/DualSense controller is active, the control settings menu will now show "Square", "Triangle", and so on, instead of the default Xbox button names.

In case you're playing in multiplayer and have multiple PlayStation controllers connected, you can also see that every player's controller gets a different LED color—neat!

PlayStation Style Button Icons

Now I've got a PlayStation controller for testing purposes, but I'm not sure yet how to display the button icons, in the game. If you have any preferences, you can use the poll to let me know!

The options look like this, essentially:

If you are an experienced PlayStation player, please let me know which version makes the most sense to you!

Controller Rumble/Vibration Support

Because I have been looking so much at controller support, I thought to myself "Mhh, why not support rumble?"

So, in the game every time you deal damage or the camera is shaking, you can feel your controller vibrate or rumble!

(Which is to say it's going to vibrate a lot, heh. I've already added an option to the settings menu to turn vibrations off, in case it's too much.)

I think it's a pretty fun effect. Unfortunately, I can't really show this off. So, just take another look at the photo from the beginning of this post, but this time imagine a subtle "brrrrrrrr" noise.

Thanks for your support!

And sorry my first poll on this website is as boring as this; but at least get to try out the feature. I should really already get on with the game's name finding process... that's going to be an upcoming poll, hopefully!

Edit

I have added a new option to the poll, above—well, not really, because I can't edit a poll after it has started.... Look, this is a learning experience!

But after friendly feedback from Stampy it does look like the typical way to go is "dark background, colored symbol."

Thinking about it, that's how I remember it from back in the day when I played PS2 games, actually... To me, it just clashed with the other icons, all of which are bright; but apparently that's just how it is, for PlayStation games?

If this is your absolute favorite style of PS icons, maybe let me know with a comment; or maybe you have ideas for an even wilder combination of contrasts and colors!

Otherwise, my new plan is to probably do a public poll on Twitter,  between this one and the winner of the patrons-only poll. Sorry for the inconvenience! Democracy is hard.
