This is part of a short story I wrote using my solo RPG, Spooky Action at a Distance. This was generated using an earlier version of the game, so the results of the rolls might not line up to the version available now. However I still think this is a neat example of the kinds of stories that can be told with this game.

Roll Result: 4 - Humanity becomes restless

Notes from Envoy Burgess’ Personal Journal

No new session today, nor for the foreseeable future. My sudden disappearance and reappearance ground any progress to a halt. But now the UN council wishes me to give the alien some sort of deal. They want the alien to stop “feeding” off people, and they need someone to tell them that. They still don’t seem to understand that the alien doesn’t need me to tell it anything, but I guess it’s supposed to be symbolic, something they said they tried to do if they decide to declare war or something. How the fuck do you fight energy? I’m sure they’re cooking up something.

I’m to meet with a proxy tomorrow. It’s been a week of waiting and yelling back and forth. Now I just want this over with.
