meet Rayne, our collective poll creature (new boyfriend?)

helllooo lovelies, I come to you with our Build-A-Character Poll character, who will henceforth be known as Rayne. I had a pretty strong vision for him from the start, though I could NOT decide whether to have him red-skinned with white tattoos, or white-skinned with red tattoos for a while. I was really worried that the other color scheme was going to be too busy for him, though I suppose it could be a cool transformation? I might have weenied out on the cooler color scheme, but I just really feel like red tieflings are pretty common.

Rayne's a dastardly fellow, steals until he can't get away with it anymore and moves on to a new city. Leaves broken hearts behind and swears it doesn't get to him. Does a lot of pining and is the type to buy a girl flowers but be too cool to give them to her. (aka Chicken Out) The kind of dude that would convince you to break into a building with him just to show you a cool view he thought you'd like. Self destructive in the way only a chaotic neutral character can be. to use a hip youngster phrase, he's kind of a fuccboi but without being a poser. bad influence.

Would you put him in your party?

The piece I have planned for the monthly print is a bit more artsy than this, but I really wanted to make sure I took the time to breath some life into him before I paint him again, and it helps a lot to have a reference to work off of. I tend to flounder horribly if I don't have something concrete to look at character-wise.

I'm thinking something kind of dramatic, where we can see more of his body tattoos.

This was the little ref board I built for him, as well as an early sketch that I decided to scrap because I thought it was a little too generic.
