hey guys, a pixie lad for you all in this spring season. This is also the postcard piece for this month's print club. Fey Astarion is in the works and I hope to have him posted in the next few days!! I'm really excited for it.
Apologies for the less stuff going on this month than usual, I've been dealing with some burnout and been honestly trashing a great deal of paintings...
The creative cycle is at times unending torment lol. I did enjoy painting this little dude for you all. Mushrooms are one thing I never get tired of painting!!
This piece reminded me of a character of mine that I've thrown through the OC meat grinder for the past 10 years or so, so I'd thought I'd share.
This dude below named Brannon I created a while back I am hoping I'll be able to paint and updated piece for you guys eventually. He ends up being my regular sacrificial character every time I do a 'style' challenge. This piece below was my attempt several years back to paint using nothing but a hard pastel brush.
And another when I was attempting a visual novel anime style:
I've gone through such a series of identity crises over the years regarding my art style. I get moved very strongly to drop everything I know and start over. "Oh, let's do watercolor for a year" "Let's try drawing only in graphite and charcoal, then scan them in and color them digitally" "Oh anime style is so fun, let's exacerbate that persistent hand injury with some lineart" etc. etc. I can feel the call again lately but I'm resisting it because I really do love the work I've created the past year more than ever.
Anyways, sorry for the rambling, I'm not really sure if you guys are interested in a blog post but I'm honestly still so shocked there is a group of people even interested enough to support me at all, so thank you so much. It means more to me than I have the words for.
I hope you all are well, and hope that if anyone is reading this feels like they are in a creative slump, I'm rooting for you. We got this!
