hi guys!!!
Halsin piece is complete since he was the poll winner! I've been itching to play Skyrim again as soon as I can get a break, and I was inspired by one of my favorite mods for the game, the hot springs mod. I don't really know why I love that one so much, it just adds a lot of coziness to the atmosphere. I absolutely love the snow. It's such a safe feeling to me when snowflakes are falling, the sound outside is dampened, and the world is quieter as everyone hunkers down indoors.
I like to imagine Druids know all of the best spots like this, and this is one that Halsin loves to visit regularly. I added the claw marks to the edge to show that he regularly climbs in and out (and maybe slips from time to time lol...) in his bear form.
I'm a huge fan of archeology/mythology as well, and I'm always looking to add some little snippets when I can in. The spiral carvings on the rocks are inspired by the stone spiral carvings at the neolithic monument Newgrange (link) in Ireland. And the cave bear is shamelessly stolen from the incredibly talented artist who painted it originally in the Chauvet Caves back 26,000-43,000 years ago in France. I recommend checking out this gallery here to see others from the cave. Cave paintings take my breath away, and I'm quite passionate about Neolithic/early human art in my spare time.
Druids fascinate me historically speaking, and I do find myself wanting to bring that into my depictions of fantasy Druid characters. I identify most with Druids personally, though I'm probably more of a Shadow Druid, lol! I loved Faldorn in the first BG game.
Anyways, all this thought really went into this ridiculously steamy Halsin painting.
I hope you all like it, it should make a nice wallpaper!!!
