Why is 2AFORALL controversial?

This is a snippet from the recent hour+ long Patreon AMA Q&A

Why is 2AFORALL controversial?

Comments

My only contention with 2AFORALL is probably based on a misunderstanding. Is it simply the notion of everyone having a right to own the gun? Or the belief everyone should own them? Because I'm leery about everyone having guns, particularly those who might be a risk for self harm. If it's just the idea of self defense being an inherent right for everyone that some should just be encouraged to not practice for the aforementioned risk factor then yeah I'm all for it.

I think the Right Wing sees firearms as their advantage, so they do not feel threatened by them, liberal anti-gun positions have made them feel even more powerful and secure in this. 2A for all is a fly in the ointment because suddenly it isn’t just their advantage anymore, they support 2A only because they feel like they are the only ones who use it.

The Yankee Marshal is polarizing, but he's uncompromising and a stanch supporter of 2A rights. Check out his content if you haven't.

This right here is exactly why I love and support this channel. I am an ardent supporter of the fundamental human right to armed self defense, and oh my god am I ever sick to death of the hypocrisy that runs rampant in the gun community, particularly online.

Likewise, the channels and personalities in the gun space to whom I've gravitated are also all openly 2AForAll. Consequently, I often find myself briefly bewildered when I stumble across someone who largly presents factual information about weapons or skills but sporadically and often subtly suggests that guns are not for everybody. My immediate instinct is "But Why?" and after further examination I inevitably find some sort of prejudice and bigotry. I'm beginning to see that skepticism or criticism of 2AForAll is a major tell/red flag

What you describe is not my experience. Just about all the Guntubers I listen to fall on the "gun rights for everyone" side with a healthy mistrust of govt. Maybe I don't follow those people for a good reason. You are probably the only openly left leaning Guntuber I follow. I appreciate that you believe that liberty and the Bill of Rights apply to all equally. We may disagree on other stuff, but that is a core value. I get the impression that the Leftists that conservatives despise the most are the ones that want to restrict rights. I think the same applies the opposite way with the people on the Right that liberals hate the most. If you respect my rights, we can have a friendly debate about the rest. I didn't always believe this way completely because I trusted govt too much and that some higher authority could be trusted with that power. A hard look at news and actual govt actions tends to break you of that view if you pay attention. I think many do not.

a white man with a gun is a defender of the 'real American" way., a black man with a gun is a threat. A litle snppet I learned from you: “A Winchester rifle should have a place of honor in every black home, and it should be used for that protection which the law refuses to give.” ida B.Wells

Because, for the excluders, it was never about the right to defend yourself, the right to own a firearm, etc. It was about exclusivity and power control.

There's a reason you're the only "guntuber" I watch anymore. You're the only one I can comfortably identify as not a bigot. To be clear I'm sure there are others, I just didn't find them years back when I was watching a bunch of other gun channels and I've long since stopped looking for new ones

2nd Amendment for all is only problematic for the same folks that have a problem with the same people living next door to them. Or that don't want any of us to have access to arms.
