Tom turned back to fight the other Alpha on his turf. And with Tom it isn't burn energy off mock fighting, it's serious combat. That's what happened. So Natalie is being forced to, quite literally, confront the source of the internal issues plaguing what's left of Tom's pack. Tom himself.
