Just something they edited out of the show is they are artificial vampires made by the doctor with the 6 lenses in his glasses, that burst into blue flame and explode when they die, and are vastly inferior to normal vampires. But you don't have to be a virgin to be turned into one of the artificial vampire, so there's that.
