2024-05-16 15:52:26 +0000 UTCI was not expecting a 1h20m movie to turn into a 2h20m movie, but with A+ commentary like this, I’m not complaining! You’re both hilarious to listen to. It’s interesting that you pointed out the goofy editing; this movie was slated for a 1997 release, but got pushed to the summer of ‘98 and A LOT of the film got left on the cutting room floor… I think they cut out 30-40 minutes for timing. So, there are definitely scenes missing giving the whole thing a slightly disjointed vibe. For example, they filmed a scene with Dolittle’s colleague Dr. Weller coming to his house during the animal invasion (and witnessing it). They also originally had him strapped to the gurney and struggling to get out, but they probably decided he went through enough abuse in the last act😂 glad you both enjoyed the film, can’t wait until next month!
