Musical's Factoid Corner time BABY!!: -Gin from Bleach wasn't evil the whole time. If you remember he was trying to kill Aizen the whole time. He was just playing the long con. -All the characters in Saint Seiya are based off of greek gods. So yeah. Definitely super powerful! -A lot of people confuse "sympathizing" and "explaining" when it comes to stories. What Fairy Tail and 90% of Shonen do is show a flashback that is solely about that character and how they can be redeemed. Excusing their horrendous actions. That's not the purpose of Gintama's flashbacks. Hosen, Jiraiya, etc are monsters through and through. Gintama's flashbacks are explanations, not exuses. They give context, but don't justify the person's actions. Simultaneously giving context on the characters affected by those actions. Hosen's dying flashback was literally to show more context on Hinowa's past, not to go " You should feel bad for the big pimp yato?" This tidbit will be very important as you move further into the rest of Gintama. Especially regarding a particular character's arc. -The ending being the opening, and the opening being the ending signifies the last episode of a serious arc. There were a couple exceptions like Benizakura, and Four Deva's. -Gin saving Asaemon as a child wasn't supposed to make us not agree with Gin. Yaemon was trying to use it to rattle her, but we, the audience, aren't meant to go "Gin was wrong for that.".
