We would like to remind you that Mismatch is set in the early 1920s, and the World War One ended just a few years earlier (11 November 1918).
Oliver is British, while Nathan is American.

There is no precise age in which one's spark is discovered. So no, Nathan and Oliver didn't use their magic during ww1 except from some random event where they didn't understood very well what happened.

So he's a 20's cali boy....hmmm so maybe a old timey mid-atlantic (kinda sounds like an old school baseball announcer and the accent was literally created for the film industry back in the day) accent? The farther back in history you go the more distinct accents get because people moved and traveled less. That's why the victorian era upper class british accent is almost extinct. Sorry accents are fascinating to me as an extention of language and how they can change each other. :)
