in regards to your question about what the legal age is like in japan; the age of consent is 16. (i think thats quite fucked up but anyways) Prostitution is technically illegal, but there's plenty of ways around those laws that are still prevalent (soap houses, compensated dating, etc) (totally didnt just google all this btw, take this with a grain of salt since i surface level searched google for this lmao)

I also felt like this was providing less information than Haruka's did both in her voice drama and the song itself. I agree with your abortion theory, in my mind it was also something combined with adultery or a frowned upon relation (i felt like the male gifts on the second staircase depicted an older man). I also wanted to let you know that the next song will have a lot of japanese on screen written. I used a translating app on my phone with the camera feature and it allowed me to read most of it. I thought it was worth mentioning so you can prepare for it and find a way that works for you to also understand those. I am also highly enjoying this series and your takes on the characters.
