I do have problems with the writing of the show, especially dialogue and some characterization here and there, the pacing isn't great. But I do have empathy because they had no idea if they'd get more than 1 season. Now they know they're getting 4 seasons so future seasons should hopefully have better pacing!

I think for the time they were allowed, they did a pretty decent job of handling the story and characters. This whole season takes place in six months, so even the time between episodes includes big jumps in time where we don't get to see what happens in the in betweens.
