This guys poor ankles!

Comments

Two things about the scene with the man whose gas mask broke: 1) Joel automatically puts himself between Tess and danger, meanwhile Tess has repeatedly shown herself to be self-sufficient to the point of recklessness 2) Joel shooting that man is an act of charity. He knows the guy is infected, and he's been crushed under debris so he's not really a danger to them. Joel has a very limited amount of ammunition with which to protect himself and Tess. So a choice to shoot that guy is actually SUPER selfless and compassionate, which goes mostly (but not entirely) unacknowledged between Tess and Joel. If it's not obvious yet, I love this game. Your insights make the experience so much better, too. Can't wait for more of this.

β€œYour ankles! Joel! Repeatedly!” πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ What ankles? His joints are made of steel. And β€œJoel! Joel! JOEL! He was just looking at the water, Joel!” I’m loving this reaction so much πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I will gracefully ignore the load comment πŸ˜‚ You’ve picked up on a lot of important (seemingly minuscule) themes of structure and dynamic so far! I love hearing your breakdowns.
