My husband and I just today officially decided to name our unborn son Aaron, and then I watch this...🫀 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

So this is not something that occurred to me on my first watch, but I'm more and more convinced that Hamilton's part in The Room Where it Happened only occurs in Burr's mind. Burr is at his most emotional and least reliable in his narration here, and spends the whole song explicitly telling us that he (and we, by extension) don't know how this meeting went. Every detailed description comes with a caveat ("Thomas claims...") that casts doubt on its veracity. And then the verse in which Hamilton directly speaks to Burr ("You get nothing if you 'wait for it, wait for it'") is both surprisingly antagonist for their relationship thus far and also pretty out of character for Hamilton...look how strangely calculated and vicious he seems there. This makes much more sense to me as a representation of how Burr thinks Hamilton is thinking instead of an actual interaction that happened.
