Sorry for the long delays.

The truth is I have become overwhelmed with problems in the past few months and finding time to write had been difficult. I am often working from 6am to 8pm just to slow down how far behind I am falling, and things keep getting more challenging.

Just in the past two months, the car has suddenly started dying, then developed a leak in the fuel tank, then the brakes failed, then the dash gauges failed, the battery died, the AC/Heat system stopped working, and now the power steering system has failed and it’s going back into the shop.

I have been sick; the wife has been sick, the washing machine broke, my job has become inconsistent and I have been working one day a week some weeks. One of my buildings was damaged by a delivery truck and is in need of immediate repairs. My cell phone died and had to be replaced. I was hit with a surprise bill for back taxes I was sure were paid, and my roof started leaking.

On top of all this I am racing the clock to finish the repairs to my house ahead of the winter. As it stands right now, I have NO heating in my house and the temp outside is below freezing. I am relying on space heaters to keep two small rooms warm so I can survive.

Now, I did buy a wood burning stove to put in the room I am rebuilding, but it was out of stock and they had to order it. Then it missed the first delivery date, then the second, and then the third. Now they are telling me it should be here by December 17th.

So all in all, its been a challenging time. What’s really been a pain has been the car. I only own one car and have had to walk three miles to the shop to pick it up, three times now. In the last two months my car has been in the shop more days then it has been out. It has also cost me a small fortune and done serious damage to my bank account.

Even when I do have time to sit down and write I am often so tired I can’t think straight. Anyway, I just wanted to share. Again, sorry for all the long delays. I have the drywall up in that room I am repairing, but I need to do the mud work, and I need to finish the outside siding. I can’t afford the new windows since the car problems have erased the budget for them, but I can seal them over for now.

I am going to shift my attention to repairing the damage to the building and then deal with the car. Hopefully, both will go smoothly and take two things off my list of worries. I would love to be able to sit down all weekend and write, but I simply can’t spare the time. One hour two or three days a week is all I can seem to manage right now.
