I don't think the aunt was turning Eleven in. She mentioned "another missing girl" so I think she was trying to get Hopper to investigate it since they had seemingly hit a dead end in trying to identify her.

2025-08-26 05:27:38 +0000 UTCSo yeah they kind of dropped the ball on this one, it felt like you know when shows try a spin-off and introduce it in the main series but it never comes out? Which is so frustrating because it could have been the best episode: take the themes, the atmosphere of the city, the cool ass powers combined but properly exploited, eleven finally getting some character focus and having the most autonomy we have ever seen her display, and Kali had so much potential!!! Justice for my girl! She could have been a Faith to Buffy kind of character, but everyone hated that episode so much i don't know if they'll have the courage to bring her back
