Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts (Full Reaction)

Comments

I love you guys and I love your reactions ♥️ maybe a suggestion for future reactions, not matter if it’s a movie, series or documentary. If you have a longer comment, pause the movie. I feel like you’ve missed the best bits and it’s hard to listen to you plus the movie scene plus the narrator in the documentary all talking at the same time. Obviously I want to hear your thoughts, but without you missing half of it :(

I know I'm kinda late to this but just wanted to share, cuz you're so right, this series hit so different growing up with it. And this doc never fails to make me cry because it brings to light truly why I loved it so much. I was born only a year before the first movie came out, and I have an older brother who is many years older than me so I quite literally grew up with these films. I have no memory of watching the first several ones for the first time cuz I was so young and they were always on. Once I got old enough I was OBSESSED. I had dolls, I was Hermione for Halloween like three years in a row, and definitely made sure to get myself a wand. Harry Potter was so integral to my childhood, at every point when I think about what fueled my imagination as a kid it was Harry Potter. Like they said in the doc, it was an opportunity to escape and it was a place to feel where u belong. To be a young kid, it was so foundational in feeling connection with something as well as just fully engaging my imagination as a kid. Like as soon as it would be dark and rainy, i'd put on an outfit that resembled Hermione's and I'd be running around my backyard pretending to be at Hogwarts haha. And then the real gut punch was the series ended when I was 11, the year I was "supposed" to be receiving my Hogwarts letter LOL. So it truly did feel like the end to my childhood when I saw that last movie for the first time. It's such a beautiful series and it just means so much to me.

I'm so glad you guys watched this... I'd been waiting because, like everyone else, knew how much you'd love and appreciate it!! You can't wrap up your Harry Potter experience without it!! Happy you both enjoyed the journey!!

Thank u SO much for watching this, what a great reaction. In response to your thoughts on why Ron n Harry didn’t hug in that scene, plz remember that even tho they clearly loved each other, they were 18 year old British men…. their exchange seemed normal to me. Unspoken was enough x

This anniversary absolutely crushes me. I saw each film with my parents from 1st grade to senior year. The track of my life truly ran along side these and its impossible to replicate.

This is making me so happy. I finally have time for the first time in a long time to catch up on some rrhq 🤠 I missed the OH OH OH and the immense silly boy energy, happy to be back

Watching this makes me tear up, the behind the scenes stuff gets me in my feels. I feel the same way watching all the behind the scenes of Lord of the Rings! Both LOTR and Harry Potter were complete magic in the making, they feel so important and I fear the magic they created won’t ever be replicated 😭

Carley

not going to go into details, but stuff is tough. seeing this brought a smile to my face. truly so grateful to spend two hours in a happy place. thanks dudes.

My husband and I went to the studio a few years ago and it was exactly as magical as you’d imagine. If you ever have to opportunity to go to London, absolutely visit! It’s worth it just be walk into the great hall.
