Fun to be watching through this again with you guys! I personally completely bought that Helly was just too ashamed to tell them about her outie. It wasn't until Helena says in the tent "I didn't like who I was on the outside. I was ashamed," that I figured it out. Because it felt very sincere but in a way that didn't sound like Helly. And they already hinted at Helena being jealous of Helly when watching the footage of them kissing. Kinda sucks you guys figured it out so fast, because that revelation going into the following scene was NUTS.

2025-08-01 20:51:28 +0000 UTCI think Helena has more than 1 motive. She is motivated by her job as a leader within Lumon, but I also think she saw an opportunity with Mark. I think she feels extremely lonely, isolated, and unloved. The praise for being an Eagan is not enough but she is too indoctrinated to break the cycle. She has a lot of power and doesn't want to give it up. She saw Mark's feelings for Helly in that video footage and saw an opportunity to play double agent for the greater Lumon mission and her own need time rebel against a system she hates. When we see her as Helena, she looks like just a shell of a human. Like an alien sent to study Earth. No emotion, just placid, blank stares and corporate jargon, which I think is her way of protecting herself against the company and her father.
