But one theory I have is that it’s just what houses do and the only reason we saw the inner workings of this one is because the Crain’s have the ability to see the house as it is. They’re able to see the house’s face and because they can see it, it wanted to take the whole family by any means necessary. And part of why it was kind of able to take them before their time is because this house had Poppy. Because of Poppy the house was able to manipulate Olivia so completely that she would willingly kill her children. And because of the trauma that that left on the rest of the family, that left them more susceptible to influence from the house. Side notes. When Theo touched Nell, she wasn’t feeling death. She was feeling Nell’s depression. The reason Nell didn’t see The Bent Neck Lady during her’s and Arthur’s relationship was because Arthur’s presence changed Nellie’s future. With Arthur, her end becoming The Bent Neck Lady, was no longer in the cards. As soon as he died, her future was sealed which is why she saw The Bent Neck Lady when she was awake. A theory, Luke and Nellie were screwed from the start. The twin thing. They could feel each other’s pains, emotions…which also means that Luke could feel when Nell took medications for her depression and Nell could feel when Luke would get high. Which is why Luke could only get clean when Nell passed. They were no longer self medicating together. I’ve watched this show many times and it’s one of my favorite shows.
