I think that's exactly why it's so good. It shows something the never showed on the movies, why petunia allowed vernon to treat Harry this way. The scene with Dudley shows all kids are the result of their upbringing (same as Malfoy).

2025-06-04 19:32:35 +0000 UTCHahahaha, I linked a video in the comments last time with a version that doesn't have the green screens showing and also includes a dialogue between Harry and Petunia. Shoulda checked that one, all good. Actually I'm confused about why there even is a version revealing the green screens when they also have a polished version.

2025-06-04 07:33:55 +0000 UTCI’m going against the trend here, but I don’t think the Petunia deleted scene is better than this. It’s not redemptive at all. It reminds us that she is Harry’s blood relative, not Vernon, but she still offers no expression of regret for her treatment of Harry through the years. At least Dudley showed some warmth to Harry in this scene. But I agree with the guys, the movie was better off without it.
