"All things come to an end’’
Added 2024-03-21 05:01:57 +0000 UTC"All things come to an end’’ - Jeffy Chaucer, poet (1374)

Let me start this out by apologizing for making you all wait for a post here for over a month. In my defense, I have been hip-deep in real world stuff, and neck-deep in game development stuff, but my head is still above water, so that should count for something. Right?
I just realized that the title of this post - and the image could be misinterpreted. OG Chaucer has been deeply misinterpreted over the years, and the quotes by this rather mysterious feller have been bent out of shape by time and the many cultures using them. In short, the quote isn’t about how all GOOD things come to an end. It simply states the fact that ALL things come to an end. Life. The heat death of the universe, the Fast and the Furious franchise.
Also coming to an end, the initial stage of this game’s development . In other words, we're getting closer to release. We’re sensing the photons from the light at the end of the tunnel, and while that may not seem like a lot to all of you who have been waiting for an update, it sure feels like a lot to me. A year ago, the fans of the original game were still holding on for a release of a game that was never going to happen, and - bless each and every one of their pervy hearts - they hold on still.
I don’t know if this reimagining is going to be successful or not, but you all should know that if it weren’t for the original fans of this game and the Early Bird supporters who sustained the initial development efforts with their donations and messages of support, the game development wouldn’t have evolved as quickly as it has.
So, bless all of your pervy hearts. I mean it.
Coming to an end as well is the introductory supporter tier, the Early Bird Special. Slated to end in exactly 30 days [and will be closed to new members as of this post] In its place will be a new set of tiers, ranging from $1 to $10 (USD). The details will also be appearing in the Patreon page for everyone to see. Each tier starts out with an exclusive role in the Discord server game discussion, and access to the Subscriber Hangout channel there.
At the upper levels of tiers, supporters will receive increasingly early access to game updates, the Original title track for the game, weighted votes in polls, bonus renders, NSFW renders from the game, and an exclusive channel where sufficiently-tiered supporters can ask questions of the developers, offer suggestions and otherwise be involved in the development process.
In addition to all that, you also get to get these sorts of posts from me every couple of weeks instead of months. That might not be a great selling point, but it is what it is. I’ll speak the true-true on How The Sausage Is Made. You are - as always - free to comment.
Probably coming to an end is the insular way we have been dealing with the public. While our Discord server is wonderfully busy, we haven’t really considered how the game’s success might be impacted by a social media presence. Maybe we are getting a bit big for our britches, but I think we’d prefer to be ready for this if the game is as popular as we think it might end up being. If there are folk with mad skills in social media marketing, drop us a line and we can explore these options a bit more.
With that ending of insular behavior, I want to invite all of our supporters - free and otherwise - to tell us what they want the game to be. Do they love/hate any characters or storylines? Do they want to see new storylines, characters, or whatever? Do they have that same dream where they see themselves standing in sort-of sun god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at them?
(..Why am I the only (other) person that has that dream?)
Lastly, we’ve been noticing that some folk who are signing up as supporters aren’t getting listed in the Princess on the Run Discord server as per the Patreon bot whose sole task is to do so. That said, if you become a supporter here, please send me a message with your Discord ID and email address, and we’ll make sure your role is updated right away. Alternatively, you can notify us in Discord about your Patreon ID and email, and we'll work it from that end. I apologize for that extra step in the process; with all things Patreon-related, a bit of redundancy seems in order.
Anyway, that’s it for now, true believers. Stay in contact, and stay pervy.
