He Maid Her Fall V0.5.3 – Tipsy (5$) tier [English/ 简体中文]

There have been some complications as well as some… frustration, but first, let's get this out of the way:
+ 11k new words (total: 100k)
+ 4 CG sets (total: 31)
+ 2 lewd scenes (total: 11)
You probably also noticed that the number version has also changed slightly. It's now going up in increments of 0.0.3 instead of 0.0.5. It's pretty much like all the other projects. The update is the same size, but I need to pace myself better if I want the number of versions to match the amount of time I need. This project, which was supposed to be 200k words max, will now be 300k words long (hopefully not more)
In any case, I've been struggling for the past day to try and make the sprite look more crisp. Live2d can be extremely hard to work with, and there isn't much documentation when it comes to Renpy.
In any case, I've tried for like 8 hours yesterday, and a bit this morning, and while I did make the visual a bit more beautiful… it came at a cost. I feel like the game is less stable. My computer can take it, but I don't know if others can. Still, instead of wasting more time on this, I decided to release it today in the hope of seeing if I can gather a bit more data. I'm praying that everything goes alright, but I seriously expect people to have issues.
I'll keep on trying to find a solution where I can both have my cake of better visual and eat it too by having everyone be able to play it.
Edit: I've fixed, kinda, the stuttering, but I had to make some concession with the texture resolution. There shouldn't be any problem now.
I've been extremely busy this month, and I know it's not an excuse. I kind of expect criticisms for the two "scenes" in this version. One, I feel, wasn't portrayed as I had envisioned. And the other… I think is too short. The thing is that those have been written for a while. I work in a way where I trust what I wrote in the past. Reworking things on the spot, while I have lots of other commitments… is not something I can do easily. Still, I'm open to criticism. And if things need to be tweaked, we can have a discussion about it at a later time. For now though, please enjoy my slop.

你们可能也注意到了，版本号也略有变化。现在版本号以0.0.3的增量上升，而不是0.0.5。基本上和其他项目一样。更新内容规模相同，但我需要更好地控制节奏，以便版本号能匹配我所需的时间。这个项目原本最多20万字，现在将延长到30万字（希望不会更多）。
无论如何，过去一天我一直在努力让角色精灵看起来更清晰。Live2D用起来非常困难，而且在Renpy上几乎没有相关文档。
总之，昨天我尝试了大约8小时，今天早上也试了一点，虽然我确实让画面变得更美观了一些……但这是有代价的。我感觉游戏的稳定性下降了。我的电脑能承受，但我不确定别人的电脑行不行。尽管如此，我决定今天发布更新，希望能收集更多数据，而不是继续浪费时间。我祈祷一切顺利，但老实说我预计会有人遇到问题。

2025-05-19 04:50:14 +0000 UTCOkay, so I guess I’ll open up with the fact that for some reason I thought this update was going to be a blueball type of update. I don’t know why, lol. Thankfully, it didn’t turn out that way, and boy am I GLAD it didn’t. I’m not sure where to start, so I’ll go with the protagonist's POV. Not much to say here, to be honest. It was short (which is fine, it ended in the right spot), and while it did have a scene from the protagonist’s perspective, I’m guessing this is the one Hangover was referring to when saying it wasn’t portrayed the way he wanted. I don’t know. I feel like it was alright, but I’m aware I feel that way because I personally don’t care much about Leslie. That said, I’ve got to be critical, because saying “it’s okay” doesn’t help the cause. To keep it real: if I were a reader who actually looked forward to these kinds of scenes with Leslie (which I don’t, since I’m team Okasan), I can’t lie, I’d say it was most definitely underwhelming, to say the least. I don’t blame Hangover for this though. This type of scene is tough to pull off in a visual novel format, especially compared to a fully animated PV style scene. But that’s not what we’re working with here, so I won’t go too hard on it. It is what it is. One thing I think would have helped the scene though would have been to maybe add some SFX for the handjob or blowjob here and there. I don’t know if I was tripping or just misremembering, but I can’t recall hearing any SFX during it. So yeah, that’s that for that one. And that’s about all I have to say for homeboy’s POV since that’s all we got. Like I mentioned earlier, it was alright in terms of length because it ended at a good stopping point. Now let me move on to Okasan/Kate’s POV. First, I want to open up by saying, good GOD. That scene delivered. Before I get into the scene itself, I want to talk about our villain or bully, whose name I keep forgetting because he’s a guy, so I’m just going to call him Dexter, lol. Boy, this update made me change my mind about this motherfcker (pun not intended *wink*) real quick. At the beginning, during the date, I was surprised at the approach taken. Bro was hitting on Kate and actually making her feel good about herself, almost like he was boosting her self-esteem. Normally, the villains just try to break our main girl down bit by bit. So as I was watching this unfold, I thought this one was going to be different, until we reached the pinnacle. Dexter showed his true colors. Like I was wondering in the last update, I asked myself how the hell Dexter was allowing whatever is going on with Leslie, so I figured maybe he didn’t know. But boy, he knows, and with 4K resolution-type evidence. This confirms that he is allowing what’s happening with Leslie, and if anything, he’s the one pulling the strings, or at least that’s what I’m guessing. Just to torment our main protagonist. Bro legitimately can’t catch a break, lmao. But yeah, Dexter is a dickhead. I thought I was going to like him, but he’s just as calculating as the others we’ve seen. Bro was playing chess while we were playing checkers. But enough about that. Let me move on to the last scene, which I’m assuming is the one Hangover thought was too short. What I have to say about that is, in my opinion, I believe it was perfect, unironically. Since it was the first sex scene, I think the length was totally fine, especially considering the context of both characters having gone so long without actual intercourse. If anything, this was perfectly executed. Down the line, the length will matter more, but not right now. Not for the very first one. And yeah, I’m going to glaze a little bit here, but I’ve got to say, this was magnificent. It was so fcking worth the wait. It almost brought tears to my eyes. I knew from the first time I heard Kate’s voice that it would fit her perfectly during the “action scenes”. Good God, it was so beautiful, I honestly can’t even find the words to describe it. So I’m going to stop right there. Though, it did take me by surprise how it’s now Dexter roughing her up like that. I mean, it makes sense since his goal is to make her stop thinking of herself as just a mother, but still, I wasn’t expecting the choking. I was just expecting the groping, pinching, tugging— you know, the usual stuff. But yeah, overall, it was a fantastic scene. Perfectly executed and incredibly worth the wait. I have no criticism for this scene. If anything, I only have good things to say. And that’s about it. I’ve yapped long enough, so once again, I’m looking forward to the next update. Keep on cooking! SIDE NOTE: Idk if there will be a rating post for this update so I will just drop my rating for it here. I personally give it a 9/10. Not a perfect score just because I must be fair about the fact that the first scene was so-so.
