Dev Update 08/2025: Side Characters ReDesign

Since introducing Side Characters in Shattered Minds, one of your most frequent requests—whether in comments, feedback, reviews, or private messages—has been for animations instead of static images.
Well, I've heard you loud and clear! Starting with V0.19, all currently available Side Characters will now feature animations!
But that's not all!
Since many of you questioned the purpose of Side Characters, I've given them a comprehensive redesign.
From now on, fully corrupted Side Characters will offer you passive bonuses.
You can always see which bonus each character provides under their corruption status, even if they haven't been fully corrupted yet. This allows you to strategically choose which one to focus on first.
Here's a quick overview of which character provides which bonus:
Leah (Beach): +10% XP Output from Harem Members
Cynthia (Park): Regain 1 Mind Energy/day
Polly (Coffee shop): +1MP/day for the Coffee Shop
Sharon (College): Bonus through children in the day care
Jennifer (College): +10% Money from the College
Lillie (Gym): +10% Money from the Gym
As exciting as these improvements are, there's one small downside.
With all the extra work that is going into these improvements, I won't be adding any new side characters in V0.19.
In future releases, I'll add at most one new side character per update, and sometimes none at all.
Hope you like the ReDesign as much as I do! This finally allows side characters to blend seamlessly into the game experience alongside the other animated characters, while also providing genuine gameplay value.

2025-04-18 21:16:52 +0000 UTCAs much as I enjoy the deepening of side characters, I'd rather have some updates that are smaller but focus on their animations. Take it as additions between updates, kinda like a v0.18.5 or something like this, where every few updates you add the animations and points systems later.

I would much rather have fewer higher quality/more useful side characters than what we had before. Thanks so much for this change.
