I think the jealousy thing with IU is really a concept of the show producers' because they've put them in that "the two maknae rivals" role pretty much from the beginning of the show (where they didn't even know each other at all) they always make them react to whatever the other has done. Because IU is the more successful one in rankings, Jiyeon is the one to act jealous but I'm a hundred percent sure they would make IU act the same if the roles were reversed (I mean she does say "mean" things when the MC's prompt her to lmao). Jiyeon exposing IU like that was truly just supposed to be funny as variety shows back in the day were much more (idk how to describe it) cruel? or very exposing of everyone I guess? Like how they keep mentioning noh hongchul's ex in the episode or generally all of the jokes about shin bongsun's or noh sayeon's looks or lee jin being boring and stuff (not that I think most of this stuff is okay but just stating how normal it was). Jiyeon went through so much and was a very popular(!) victim of unwarranted hate of 2nd generation idols. IU and Jiyeon truly went through thick and thin together after this show, I feel like their friendship was and still is a huge anchor (do you say that in english idk) for the both of them. Also I'm not sure if you know about the mind boggling witch-hunt Jiyeon's group T-Ara went through because it pretty much destroyed their careers for absolutely nothing. You could read into it some time if you want to have yet another ridiculous example of kpop idols life being ruined over the dumbest things lmao.

2024-01-10 01:05:46 +0000 UTCJiyeon didn't mean anything bad by it. She is actually one of IU's closest friends and is thought to be the friend IU wrote "Dear My Friend" for. IU was even a big part of the wedding Jiyeon had in 2022 and gave a speech. Gaeun was also at the wedding which made for a small reunion that was nice to see.

2024-01-07 23:14:46 +0000 UTCJiyeon was very young back then, I don’t think she was thinking a lot before acting but for sure I think she has grew out. There are things that Jiyeon experienced as well that made her learn as she grew.
