So.. How do you know that Tim wasnt telling ben behind the scenes that he(Tim) is the star and that ben is and should remain basically the laugh track for him... In that case Ben had to keep quite and not riff with Tim because his job is to LAUGH and not JOKE... That coupled with the fact that Tim is probably a hell to be around 24/7 (also berated on the show constantly exhibit A ^) Ben wanted out and to start something of his own that he could be himself and actually be funny without having to be on a leash.. This could easily be the case.....Especially considering the last part of your comment you basically reveal you are a Tim Super simp that wants to fuck him.. I don't blame Ben for not wanting to be around Tim because the entire comedic duo is about Tim shitting on Ben for being incompetent. That being said, it's been months where I swear Ben doesn't laugh at all for Tim's best jokes, and I can tell Tim is having to stoop to pretty middle school level humor at times because that's what gets a laugh out of Ben. This episode is a great example of 50 minutes of Tim cracking clever, funny jokes, and Ben not reacting for shit. Whatever editing Ben does is extremely minimal so his presence is to be a character basically. Someone else already pointed it out, but Ben has been trying to crack more jokes, have his little one-liners, and critique Tim more and more. If Ben was funny and actually had a point, it would have been a great growth of the podcast. Instead Ben is revealing why he's a great laughtrack as harsh as that sounds because his jokes are dogwater. He tries to say people didn't go to Batwoman because the lead was a black woman as if Catwoman wasn't most successful with Halle Berry. A combination of Ben not being able to tell what is funny or not anymore, Tim being abusive, and Ben wanting more light, and Ben's legitimate incompetency is what brought the duo to an end. You can hear Tim trying to shape the podcast around Ben more and more because the dude is dry as fuck for 90% of Tim's best material. If Tim kept Ben around, he'd have just let the show decay. Great things don't last forever. Early Tim+Ben was great, but I'm sure solo Tim will be better than what this would've turned into. No idea how most of the comments are shitting on Tim, for one you haven't even heard anything that abusive lmao, secondly you're all acting like this is John Lennon and Paul McCartney splitting up. You're entitled to your opinion of course but honestly its obvious that Ben wants to be more and is upset about having the small letters and being on the side. If he wants to be the star he can make his own show but some people I think just aren't meant to be entertainers but hey that's just how I feel. Tim is an Irish god hahahah he's my spirit animal I think it just takes a brutal kind of life to make a kind of person who can confront someones lil ego and make it hilarious and be unbotheredby it. Ben's little ego gets inflamed again and again. Tim was chillin, Ben just has some underlying things feelings about Tim that hes swept under the rug for a long time and this his jealous lil explosion... because face it..... he sounds a little beta. Ben's laugh was great in the backround in the past when Tim was going off but to me that's all I ever really remember. The show has gone to shit without Ben. The Ari episode on youtube was initially titled "Ari Shffnir" and the edit cuts in the middle of Tim saying "fish". Whatever useless moron was hired to replace Ben has no idea what they're doing and hearing this makes me sadly understand why Ben chose to exit.
