Monkey GO Happy 764- The Monkees Meet the Monkeys Theme

How interesting! I immediately searched for The Monkees... I didn't remember anything about them and I'm a believer, though as soon as I heard it after reading your posts, I DID remember :D Anyway, I enjoyed a lot this very nice stage even with no references in mind! Thank you Robin, even for the beautiful dip in the past :)))

The first thing I always do is change the headgear from the spinning bow to something less animated. But the other headgear options covers the dots on stage, so that was a challenge to figure out. But I guess I'm here for a challenge

Another interesting tidbit, in Star Trek, Chekov (Walter Koenig) was added to capture the look of Davy Jones from the Monkees as he was popular with the girls and they wanted to try to get more girls to watch Star Trek. So it's funny how the Beatles influenced the TV show Monkees which influenced the TV show Star Trek.

For the Monkees, Micky Dolenz. If you google Monkees I'm a Believer you will get videos for it. I think this was before they were "allowed" to play their own instruments so if watch the drums, you will see he is barely playing them. Also the guitar is a closeup, even both him (Mike, guitar) and Peter (keyboard) were actually musicians. Micky learned later how to play the drums. You can look up videos on the actual Monkees themselves. It's a fascinating story about how 4 guys that never knew each other actually became a real band.

Walter Scott

me too. did not have a clue. needed to google it. but i am not good with music, i listen to it but who sing it??

Interesting fact, the song "I'm a Believer" which was sung by Smash Mouth in Shrek was actually a Monkees song.

Walter Scott

The Monkees were a fake band (2 actual musicians and 2 regular actors) who actually became a real band. They were formed to mimic the Beatles on a TV show.
