Hi, everyone. At long last, here's the blogpost explaining a (somewhat) secret project that I've been working on for the last few months. In this blogpost, I will explain a new plan, changes to the Advanced Plan and how it all came to be.
Whenever I'm working on something, I'm always thinking of ways to improve it. Whether it'll be introducing animation to my works or further refining it by adding layers of post-processing to my cuts, I'm always thinking of ways to present my next work in a unique way. This time, it's gaming.
Why a game? Because it gives us unparalleled intractability. Do you want to play as Frieren, making choices that will either get you stuck in a mimic or devoured by a cloth evaporating slime? Done. Or perhaps, a background character who was lucky enough to befriend cute losing heroines? Games open the way to immeasurable amounts of possibilities. That was the reason I poured (too much) money and (definitely too much) nerves into this, to introduce all the benefits of the gaming medium to my works.
Why a new plan? Game development takes a lot of time and resources, even more so when it's a game based solely on the quality and quantity of its animations. I decided to create this new plan in order to somehow off-set the costs of the development.
Roadmap? Of course, but first, as you might've noticed from the title of this blogpost, there's already an initial version of a game out!
"A Dog's Reward" is planned as a multi-ending, animation based game that will put you in the shoes of a certain dog asking (begging) for a treat. At the moment (v0.1) it contains 3 main animation loops and 2 transitional loops. In the coming months an intricate intro sequence with multiple dialogue choices and endings will be added. More fun positions and an "edging" mechanic.
Further ahead, a few more games are in development. I won't spoil the details but they might have something to do with a certain elf and borderline unhealthy obsession with mimics.
First of all, everyone who subscribed to the plan last month will receive their animation colored and post-processed as usual. This only applies to new subscribers. Advanced plan was introduced a while back as a way for you to request a custom animation in full-color with all the bells and whistles like compositing and post-processing. Things were never quiet with the endless stream of your imaginative requests... really, it was almost too much to handle.
Which is why after careful consideration, I decided to make some changes to the plan. The main issue I had with the previous version was the amount of time I spent on compositing and editing, time that could be better spent taking on more of your amazing requests. Well, I believe that I came up with a good solution:
- Price of the plan reduced from 10k YEN to 5k YEN
- No need for messaging me for confirmation if your request features characters I already worked on (Makima, Power, Frieren etc.) as long as it doesn't violate ToS and doesn't have gore, shotas, etc. in it.
- No compositing, coloring work will be done on the cut
- Rough animation
As you can see, I'm drastically decreasing the price in favor of reduced workload. Everyone on the waitlist for the plan is now allowed to subscribe, thank you for your patience!
As always, thank you for your support,
NEKOFLUX
