In Korea and Japan, we usually pickle meat, vegetables, and eggs with salt or soy sauce. (kimchi is one of them) Especially in the case of eggs, it is very famous that they are boiled in soy sauce. So they don't think it will feel that strange. But too much vinegar smell is burdensome. haha.
