2020-06-27 21:34:59 +0000 UTCI used to work at the world’s richest gold mine (at the time it was considered that but the high grade has been mined out for a while now). I remember seeing stopes (mined “pathways” through the ore) with blast faces just covered in gold. Most geologists are lucky to see just a speck of visible gold (VG) in their career but I saw it nearly everyday. Some blasts exposed gold that looked as if someone had thrown buckets of gold-coloured paint everywhere, and I mean everywhere. It was amazing to see. Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to mining and my entire career because of my chronic pain and depression but I have some really amazing memories. :)

A little tiny token of Canadiana would be much appreciated if that’s possible since Canada Day celebrations are out the window this year due to the virus.
