Because there are just so many members that you have to make yourself stand out to make yourself known, and especially for someone from a sister group, you have to rank high in the general election to participate in the singles and get screen time to make yourself known more nationally. It’s not to say they don’t care about their fellow members or the group as a whole, but they have to worry about their individual popularity more than the group’s popularity. Plus members are coming and going constantly so it’s just so different
