Marve - Bo Concept Sketches
Added 2025-08-06 19:00:01 +0000 UTCThe first of the two prey from chapter 3: Bo! He's a pigeon, which I gotta say is an animal with really good design potencial. I love the stripes on his forearms; just a shame they won't be seen much lol.
The tricky part was figuring out the white part on his beak, which I learnt is called a cere. It felt wrong to leave out, but I didn't love having it there either, as I wanted his face to be as simple as possible, to reflect the look of zero brain activity that you see in pigeons sometimes lol. I think I reached a good compromise, just sort of hinting to it in the line art!
I mocked up some colours for him, but didn't really experiment with it. I gave him the first colours I could think to give him, and thought it suited fine. If I were doing a coloured comic, I might want something a little more interesting, but this is fine for now! Although, I can't decide if his clothes being Peter Griffin-coloured is hilarious or horrible.
