Deep in the Jungle of Branching Paths…

Hi guys,

Time for a quick progress update on Forsaken Island!

Things have been a bit hectic lately, and I haven’t been able to move forward as fast as I’d hoped (real life’s got bills to pay, after all) but the update is coming along nicely—I’m down to the final stretch: testing the new chapter. I need to make sure all the branches are working properly. And the deeper the game gets, the more branching paths there are… which means more stuff to check and break! Especially since this update includes several sequences with a ton of variations..

That said, it’s going to be a fairly big update overall, with lots of new content compared to the previous versions. Here’s a quick overview of what’s coming in the next build of Forsaken Island:

I’ve decided to change my original plan: instead of releasing a “demo” followed by the full game, I’ll now follow a more common approach for games like this—releasing new chapters one by one to gradually expand the full experience. In practice, this doesn’t change much for the current build, but starting with version 0.4, the “demo” label will be dropped.
A brand-new chapter packed with content is on its way, featuring lots of new images and spicy scenes that pick up right where the story left off.
I’ve gone through a full rewrite and polish pass on all the existing text to fix clunky lines and make the dialogue even more lively and natural.
I’ve added a new (optional) sequence at the end of each day to help players keep track of scenes they may have missed, with hints on what they could try differently next time.
A brand new achievement system has been added and will continue to expand with future updates.
Plus, a handful of bug fixes and tweaks to various features to improve the overall gameplay experience.

I’m hoping to wrap up this new version within the next few weeks.  Sorry for the wait, folks—and thank you so much for your patience.  More steamy island adventures are just around the corner!
