The game is afoot to take two pieces off the chess board, and apparently, no move is too aggressive.

Jian asked for 10M when DH asked how much to let him off from eating with her. That's the price of getting rid of him for the CEO. As you also noticed, someone noticed that both Jian and DH wore similar sombre clothing and carried large bags which symbolises the large burdens they were lugging.

The tracker is one of the turning point in the drama I'd say, it lets JiAn to know so much more, not just about him but about adults in general. Since all she has in her life were bad examples and that one guy her age.

And also, the way Donghoon immediately acknowledged his fault in making Jian feel offended was such a quick and nice way to portray his humble and understanding character. Not a lot of elders do that. I just loooove the character portrayal and development in this drama. Yes, the first 4 episodes can be quite gloomy and stressful but they’re all building a solid foundation for the upcoming episodes 😉

I remember being very shocked the first time I watched the scene where Donghoon asks Jian “What does your father do?” because that’s a very common thing that elders ask younger people in Korea. Generally, people don’t put much meaning into that casual question. But watching Jian’s sensitive reaction really made me re-think about how the words we say without much thought can actually harm and insult others… I think that’s why this drama is praised as a well-made drama. It’s not easy to make people reflect upon their everyday lives and view those “ordinary” sayings from a different perspective.

I've watched My Mister countless times, but viewing your reaction reminds me of what I felt the first time I watched it. Although now I perceive the story and the characters in a different/new light, I recognize all the sensations I felt the first time, especially the confusion and anxiety of these first introductory episodes, which are more "depressing" than emotional. And I really like the adjective you used: "ordinary". Even if a little "out of reality" things happen (like the wiretapping), the ordinariness oozes from everything. And everythingl, from the costumes to the lights, contribute to create a "credible reality".
