2022-05-30 06:46:46 +0000 UTCIU referenced a lot of literature in her songs. She was a good student but her grades fell because of missing classes due to her busy schedule as a new singer. Only grade she maintained was literature. She read a lot whenever she can and it's not light stuff. You can see her reading Doestovky's Brother Karamazov in Hyori's B&B.

It’s amazing to see how she balanced the suitable dramatic needed for musical art yet still keep the beauty of simplicity such as knees. I cant wait for you to finally check out dear name (the special clip in 1theK) gosh! and also love poem, my sea and lullaby. There's a special clip for the shower and it features Lee Jigeum (gold), Lee Jieun (silver) and Lee Jidong (bronze) lmao. You'll know when you know ;) It was supposedly a song she wanted to sing when she joined the variety show infinite challenge but her partner wanted something else and so Leon was born. But I'm glad she included the shower in her album instead! The MV for twenty-three is sooooo freaking a-mazing literally alice in wonderland but sooo much more. And "moist woman" when I checked they said it's a korean expression that means independent woman. I guess it's one of those phrases that there's no proper English translation for. I'm freaking stoked to go on her other album listens as discography is massive and there's sooo much to unfold. Hopping in the torsie train and never gonna disembark thanks!

The audio track you heard for knees was the live version she did on 1theK. And the background vocals on that one was Jehwi, same as the guy singing backing vocals on the zeze live clip. He is a long time collaborator of IU, most notably the songs Through the Night and My Sea. You will also see him around some of her youtube clips especially her sloppy lives that she did/does on EDAM’s yt channel. Last, if you were following the tracklist order, you mixed up the shower and shoes/new shoes but it doesnt really matter but I just want to point that out since the first line of Shoes said, “hello, did you wait long?“ It was done on purpose because the last track and last line of her previous album “modern times” was “wait”. Just some cute easter eggs for you
