Started watching WGM from T-ara's eunjung when she is in it, (after it ended) and just continue catching up all the old episodes. This is the source where i started knowing Apink. WGM seems to be the source to know about a number of groups, T-ara, Apink, Girls Day, Red velvet etc....(and a number of actors\actress too) glad to see this here. it is unlikely but i do wish you can get to other couples from this show. just treat it as a show and it is really fun to watch it.

2023-01-14 16:50:15 +0000 UTCFrom what I understand, Idols (probably their managers) apply to be on the show and select people they might like to be "married to" from a select list. So that part was real but is likely a way to promote each group. I think Key really was disappointed though. By his appearance, this could be around the time that Key followed Minho around and wasn't the confident Key we know today. But it seems Kibum has always been thoughtful about relationships which can't always be said for Minho (based on the short TGM episode I viewed, which also may have been scripted). My friend's mother didn't let her and her sister watch the series because she thought it was wrong to put two young people in a situation like that. (Are they the youngest couple on the show?) Anyway, the girls didn't get to watch but their mother watched every episode religiously.) I already don't want to see Taemin get hurt, or Naeun for that matter. I know it can be easy to just plow forward and speak without thinking, or without an agenda. So the shyest person may appear brave but is quivering inside. (Taemin is so adorable and I'm already feeling protective for some reason.) On a side note, I see there's still alot of controversy in the fandom about the pairing. (And this was during the popularity of 2Min and TaeKai, Shawols correct me about the timeline, which were also SM scripted fan service vehicles, at least in 2Min's case, I believe.) In an industry with dating bans, TGM might be the only opportunity for someone as hardworking as Taemin to experience skinship and a possible love relationship. (See how he is about Nam Geung Euisoo's love life?) Taemin has said that a friend taught him or got him to be comfortable with skinship and I've always wondered if that friend was Minho, based on the fan theories, etc. (In SuperM's As You Like It episodes, you can see how giggly and nervous ALL the members get when one of them touches a woman's hand in a scripted scene, etc.) Sorry for the long post! Let's see where this goes. Thank you for doing this, Tors1e. I've been wanting to watch it but couldn't find anything with English subtitles longer than a few minutes. (And when I asked what Taeun was, I was soundly attacked and then left well enough alone.)

I know it's a bit controversial among fans, and there are some deeply cringe moments here and there, but it's mostly really sweet throughout. Taemin and Naeun are adorable together and, as you said, very well matched. I was honestly SO nervous for him when I started the show because I know how shy and awkward he can be (especially at that age) but I was actually quite impressed for the most part? Especially considering the lack of experience. He may be shy but once you get him talking his lack of a filter somehow works in his favor. I believe the show hosts/panel commented on his forwardness a few times so I don't think it's entirely cultural. Either way, it is interesting to get to see these other sides of him and worth the watch for even just that reason.

I now know what he’s like alone, with SHINee, and with SuperM - seeing him be cute and romantic (and awkward) is a whoooole other ball game!

Meanwhile, I’m just now realising I must have seen his rosary ring 1000 times and just not clocked what I was looking at. But now I know! I can’t wait for the rest, this is as good as any kdrama I’ve watched lol!!

I remember feeling really 50/50 when it first came out but I must say I did get a much better understanding of Taemin's personality (at least part of it) from this series and got to see him in different situations we normally wouldn't. Most importantly realised what a jokester and odd ball he can be XD

The thing at the beginning with Taemin being Recruited is just reality tv editing. Like I mentioned before they have a storyline they are following and a basic plot line for each episode. Though I’m sure Key did have that reaction when they first approached SHINee. 🤣 Key has actually been on WGM before in his friends episodes before Taemin went on and he is like a love guru for the couples. The forward ness is partially cultural and part him I think 🤔 he doesn’t really have much of a filter if you know what I mean 😅. Oh the rosary! The bracelet he’s had for years he only stopped wearing it around 2017? As for the ring he wears two rosary rings. I didn’t really see them during DCM era but I remember him wearing the thumb ring in his recent vlives

2021-05-15 10:05:59 +0000 UTCtaemin still wears his rosary ring! it’s usually on his left thumb i think, though i have no idea if it’s actually the same ring or if he’s since lost and replaced it in the past 7-8 years 😅 as for whether they knew ahead of time who was doing the show, that part may have been loosely scripted or faked... though if it was, key deserves an oscar for how genuinely excited/disappointed he seemed LOL the producer of the show has admitted that some aspects of the show are pre-planned by the staff (basically just some of the major dates/activities, especially early on when the couples don’t necessarily know each other well enough yet to plan things together or for each other), but none of the things they actually say or the way they react are scripted.
