News roundup

The Christmas Update is coming along nicely, will feature well over 160 new images and over 30 new animations (and more than twice as much text as the Halloween Special, as well as other improvements), and will release on the 23rd or 24th for backers (still targeting the 23rd, fingers crossed), while 0.1.8c and KKKA will become freely available for all.

But in the meantime, some information for everyone:

New Versioning Scheme:
Starting with the christmas update, the version numbering will be migrated to something more flexible.
Having two dots in the version number is a bit annoying to type, so from now on, only smaller content updates will use the second sub-number.
Additionally, from now on letters will only be used strictly for bugfix/hotfix updates.
From now on, the second number of the version will be two-digit and increase only with major content updates, so the christmas update will be called Release 0.10 (in principle 0.10.0, but with the sub-number not shown if it's zero, which will be the case for most major releases), since it's the 10th major content release since launch.
Smaller content updates will then use the sub-number, so for example a smaller release that's based on the christmas release and only adds some minor content would be called 0.10.1, or 0.10.5 if I feel it adds enough content but doesn't quite justify being called a major release.

Another example: in the new versioning scheme the original release 0.1.8 would've been 0.09(.0), 0.1.8b would've been 0.09b (just a bugfix release) and 0.1.8c would've been 0.09.1 (as it adds at least some minor new content).

Technically, some of the previous releases wouldn't really count as major updates in the new versioning scheme, but let's ignore that to have a fresh start with the 0.10 christmas update.

New release schedule starting in January:
Both patrons and Discord visitors strongly voted in favor of regular monthly major releases, rather than a new release every 2 weeks or a new huge release every 2-3 months.
So starting with the January release, Total Maidness! will follow those results and adopt a strict monthly schedule.
From January onwards, the monthly major release will be on the 15th of the month for Lv2 and higher backers, with occasional betas (if I feel something needs early 3rd-party testing) up to two days earlier for Level 5 patrons who are on Discord (if there are any).
Level 1 patrons will have to wait a week longer, so they'll get it on the 22nd of the month.
Free releases will happen on the 29th (or 1st of March, in case of the Feb release).

About the January and February releases:
The Christmas Special took up more of my time than I'd hoped, and my new co-writer/coder will be extremely busy with RL until at least mid-February (too late to help with the February release).
I plan to take a 1-week break from Total Maidness! development during the last week of December myself, so the January release is bound to be a smaller one.
The February release will be bigger again, but due to what I mentioned above, not as big as I'd ideally want our monthly releases to be.
We do plan to pick it up starting with the March release though, including finally adding more maids (overdue, I know).

That's it for now. I'm quite happy with how the Christmas content is turning out, I hope you'll like it as well.

Stay tuned!
