Last week we gave you a big write-up on the content we have in the pipeline, along with some behind the scenes info on our development process! This week, we’re showing some more cool content - this time, artwork from Tapi, our amazing artist. But first…

We’ve been hard at work planning a bunch of new content! You’ve already seen a bunch of Tapi’s new art in the game (and in our news posts here), but today we wanted to show off one of the biggest areas she’s been focusing on… The enemies for Combat!
Tapi has already completed the artwork for over 70 Monsters, with many more on the way!
Some of these opponents should be familiar to you, but all of them have had a huge visual overhaul! We’ve picked a few of our favourites to show off, but there are plenty more to see when they’re added to the game. We’ve already got illustrations for over 80 enemies, and we’re not done yet 😉
Starting off with some familiar foes, here’s a sample of some of the Golbins coming to Melvor Idle 2!




We’ve teased before that we have a lot of new enemies coming with Melvor Idle 2. Here are some other new creatures that are on their way! We won’t tell you their names, but you can probably figure out what most of them are (checking the file names is cheating😉)





And lastly, Tapi wouldn’t forgive us if we didn’t show off some Dragons!




This is just a taste of what we’ve already got prepared for Combat, and we’ll be adding even more as we go! We hope these are as exciting for you as they are for us. You can expect to see the first batch of them in-game when we add Combat - no ETA for now, but it is now in progress (as we covered last week - check out that post if you haven’t already, it goes into detail on our approach and what we’ve been working on!)
Speaking of which…
Here is what the team has been working on since our last post!
Malcs:
Full focus is on Ranching since last week. Adding new/pending features, refining mechanics and trying to figure out what to do about the UI.
One of the secret projects is nearing completion! Probably another month before it can be shown off.
Coolrox:
Continued work on Combat.
Started work on the equipment system
Started designing the stat calculations for combat
Also worked on some behind-the-scenes tasks, such as improving our automated builds and improving the game data system
Added a new Triggers system to the game which allows us to represent events in game data. For example, we can now represent "Catching a Fish" in data. This will be used as a foundation to implement things such as Consumable items and Potions
Prat:
Mostly focused on Ranching! Lots of work being done on progression, mechanics and balancing
Working on smaller adjustments to Thieving, Pets and Cowskill
Some focus shifted back to Combat, especially the initial batch of Monsters being added to ensure data is up to date when ready for implementation.
Tapi:
Working on Animal artwork for Ranching. We'll show some off next week!
Also created new art for several farming items.
