Yeah, it's the sort of thing that happens a lot, obviously in some cultures more than others, but overprotective or controlling parents really are terrible, even if it does come from a place of supposed love. Josh is getting there. Slow progress is still progress 😊

2026-02-21 17:08:02 +0000 UTCDanny's behaviour certainly does look like potential addiction. Is that the way I take it with him... we shall see, but for now he is likely to have a few other issues to deal with. Mr Cho , like many of the teachers, has a bit of a soft spot for Danny, but thamkfully Danny also had the good grace to only pull that behaviour in private. Even a teacher who likes him wouldn;t let misbehaviour go unpunished in front of other students. But for now he handled it well. The Finn/Danny relationship is often a strenuous one as they are so close, which can make feelings run hotter, but they also lack the same level of contact as Danny has with other people in his life. And yes, you are correct, Danny really is being a bit selfish, but hopefully he learns from this. Nicky's handling of Gray and Mr Stone really hearkens back to his earlier days. Being so conflict-averse, he became very effective as a peacemaker. It's nice that he can still use those skills now. Also, people who have lost close family often see the value in family more, so Nicky really couldn't bear to see Gray lose someone he was close to. Nicky and Gray really are wonderful together As for Josh, I don't necessarily show the therapy sessions and introspection characters go through while tackling their issues, but the progress is always there, and as you say, not immediate. Josh is working on it and that's nice to see. Teaching language through other media (and general alternative teaching methods) is something I've always been passionate about as I strongly believe most existing school systems are outdated and not fit for purpose. I'm not saying put hentai into schools, but other ways of thinking are certainly needed. 'Rob's love life is almost a soap opera' - yeah, I'll say no more than the fact I agree with that lol. The alignment of Valentines Day was purely by chance, but I'm glad it worked out that way 😊

2026-02-21 16:58:01 +0000 UTCFrom this chapter, my favorite wonderfully witty lines from the marvelous mind of Matt were, “Terrible week, learned nothing, zero stars, not recommended! My yelp followers will be hearing all about it. Worst gay cruise ever!” and “My butt, my opinion!” “Okay, I need that on a t-shirt!” . Thanks Matt for always giving me a good laugh and a good cry each chapter.

2026-02-19 04:45:16 +0000 UTCI'm starting to wonder if Danny is developing an actual sex addiction. He always had sex whenever he could and has long since been seeking opportunities to do it, but it recently started to look like he gets antsy if he goes a few days without doing it. There's nothing wrong with having a lot of sex, but being dependent on it, if I'm right about this, is something that should be handled like any other addiction. He also needs to work on separating things, the way he talked to Mr. Cho outside in a context of tutoring was completely out of line, he's lucky the teacher taught him a lesson about it without also punishing him. In other Danny news, Finn not talking to him was because he was deeply hurt, which makes sense. Getting ghosted by a great friend sucks, but not gettin an explanation is an awful feeling. And it's worse for Finn because he doesn't have many friends. Telling Danny he only cares about himself is probably the must hurtful thing Danny could hear, and it hurts more because he knows it's accurate in this situation. But he needed to hear it. Meanwhile, Danny is still not dealing with the other things that contributed to his depression and I wonder if him seemingly repressing all those feelings will make it come crashing back at some point. As I briefly said in the other comment, Nicky was very mature in the way he handled Mr. Stone. It's good for Gray that he did that, he wouldn't have made peace with his father anytime soon without Nicky taking the grabbing the opportunity of Mr. Stone's apology. Meanwhile, Nicky bottomed for the first time and we can see the difference between this sex scene and Nicky sex scenes that weren't with people he loves romantically. Regarding the other couple who stayed at half term, Josh is working on his jealousy. But I think it's realistically that he's still working on those issues, they don't disappear overnight just because he's aware of them. Time for some quick thoughts. Teaching Danny Japanese through what I assume is Hentai is hilarious and a great idea. While Rob and Jazz agreed to only be friends, I kind of wonder if it will develop into more, despite it not being their intention. Plus Rob's love life is almost a soap opera, so I'm curious about what mess might come next. The spin the bottle game was cool and Mr. Rudd catching them was funny. It's nice. Danny vetoing the "least attractive" dare was thoughtful of it, but not surprising, caring about others is his thing. that the chapter taking place partially on Valentine's Day came out so close to the real like Valentine's Day.

2026-02-14 21:00:34 +0000 UTCWow the love of Nicky and Gray is so unbelievably cute , the way Nicky gives himself to Gray is very hot

2026-02-14 14:41:20 +0000 UTCSome additional thought: Gray's dad's confession made me think of (quite a number of ) stories I heard here. Mainly, especially about single mom and her only son (because of the "son preference" tradition here). Single mom wouldn't let go of her son, so it would usually be a difficult time for her son's couple (girlfriend, wife... and I even heard a story about the mom hysterically argue with her son when he came out to her and admitted he already had a boyfriend). So I do understand, at least to some extent, Mr. Stone's insecurity and jealousy. It's also good to see Josh handling his jealousy. Not completely, but with some little progress. When reading that part, I was wondering that, really? Josh was okay with Mark making out with Ben? But then Josh's confession makes a lot of sense.

2026-02-14 11:01:34 +0000 UTCAfter a quick googling, it seems the surname Cho is most commonly used in Korea, followed by China and it's uncommon in Japan, but it exists. I also wondered if Mr. Cho wasn't Japanese and this was a continuation of the same joke that has the French teacher be German and the German teacher be French.

2026-02-14 10:39:44 +0000 UTCWow, reading this chapter on Feb. 14 is... interesting. But it's a nice and relaxed chapter. Happy to see Gray's dad admit his mistake and explain properly this time. And yes, Nicky's forgiving mind is great. "The Golden Girls", wow, I remember watching it on TV (with translated narratives) when I was in elementary school. I loved the "American style" humor in it. Speaking of cute Japanese guy, my avatar is one Japanese boy actor I liked. The avatar was when he acted in "Queen's Classroom". He was 14 then, acting a 12-yo boy in sixth grade, and I was pretty smitten by him. Now he should be 30-something nearly 40 I think. I still keep this avatar for this identity. And... Mr. Cho is a Japanese? Cho doesn't sound like a Japanese family name. It's more like a Chinese family name.

2026-02-14 07:35:51 +0000 UTCFull thoughts tomorrow, but Nicky was the standout in this chapter. Both in his maturity when talking to Mr. Stone and because of how far he's come that's he's willing to be part of a circle jerk with 15 other guys without worrying even a bit.
