Hi guys! 

It's finally time for me to make the official announcement for this HUGE project and I've been soooo excited to do this…

The Cabaret Bara Not-Reboot has officially entered production!

What does that mean? What even is a Not-Reboot? Will Finn finally learn how to cook pasta? 

Well, I have answers to most of these questions.

But there's A LOT of meat to this project so let's take it one bite at a time, shall we?

A Not-Reboot?

As I've teased previously, Cabaret Bara is getting a new beginning. Now let me reassure you right away: we are not starting over entirely which is why I call this a “not-reboot”. It's really only about the first episodes.

Why Am I doing this?

You may not have noticed because it's been a really long time since, but the first few episodes don't really make sense as the intro to the comic. They aren't in the same format and art style as the rest of the comic and they clearly don't follow the same plot either. 

In other words Cabaret Bara before and after “My Lovely Valentine” are two different comics. So I want to create the first episodes of the CB comic that we currently have because these episodes simply don't exist yet.

The reason I want to harmonize the format of the comic - aside from it just being better for anyone picking up CB today - is because I have decided to address a request I've received many times...

Cabaret Bara is gonna be printed!

There will be a new paperback volume every three episodes and each volume will contain three episodes and a few side stories in between.

OF COURSE, Cabaret Bara will stay a webcomic first and foremost and will always be released on Patreon first and on social media second. The physical edition is really just a bonus for the collectors among you who have been asking for this.

Now keep in mind that I still have to do a great deal of research into different printing services and the paperback project will only truly start once the "timeline is repaired" anyway so please be patient.

What's Coming?

Two new episode are being added to the beginning of the story:

• Episode 1 - Champion of Love and Hope
• Episode 2 - Bara Boy Booty Camp

The first episode is fully scripted and I am currently awaiting the last bits of feedback from my very kind friends who agreed to quality-test it for me (big thanks to Shakam, Adam, Griffin, and Tom for offering their help!) but I'm already very proud of it and I think that you will enjoy it a lot too whether you were here in CB's early days or not.

Some new side story comics are also being added in between episodes to form a more streamlined timeline that will be easier to follow and read. 

What's going away? 

Nothing.

I will archive everything here meaning the "discarded episodes" will still exist and be accessible if you feel nostalgic.

But the following episodes are no longer part of the CB canon:

• Episode 1 - New Beginnings

• Episode 2 - A Magical Himbo is Born

• Episode 3 - Amphylla Online

• Episode 4 - Finn's Christmas Carol*

Now since we're removing 4 episodes and replacing them by 2, you can probably guess that the subsequent episodes will need to be renumbered. So for example:

Episode 5 - My Lovely Valentine --- becomes ---> Episode 3 - My Lovely Valentine
Episode 6 - Rent-A-Husband --- becomes ---> Episode 4 - Rent-A-Husband
And so on...

*Now regarding "Finn's Christmas Carol", please don't be alarmed. I know this is a long-time favorite for many of you and it's close to my heart too. So please, let me reiterate that despite it being removed from the canon, it will still be archived here for you to re-read whenever you want.

BUT...

The episode concept will be reused later down the timeline. Think of it as a future spiritual successor. 😉

What's gonna change? 

Now let me once more reiterate that this is not a reboot nor is it a remake. As tempting as it is for me to just redraw and rewrite all the older episodes, I will not do that! I wanna keep moving forward too.

With that being said, there will be some necessary changes to the other existing episodes beyond the episode number. 

Most of it will consist of:
• Correcting typos
• Reformatting text to the standard font and size
• Converting 8x10 pages to 8½x11
• Smoothing out some inconsistencies (like references to discarded episodes)
• Fixing small visual errors (like accidentally offensive tattoos)

The bigger changes are gonna be:
• Touching-up cover art in some instances
• Adding a prologue and an epilogue to each episode missing those
• Replacing the missing pages
• Adapting some text side stories into comics (1-3 pages max)

For example, my most extensive rework planned is for "My Lovely Valentine".
Here's the to-do list for this one:
• Rework the cover artwork
• Add a prologue page
• Remake pages 1-2-3 (which were in square format)
• Add page 11 (which was a video)
• Add an epilogue page
• Add a bonus scene
Which means MLV will go from 19 pages - 3 of which are half pages - to 24 full pages.

Après y avoir longuement réfléchi, j'ai décidé de faire une traduction française pour Cabaret Bara.

Je me charge de cette adaptation moi-même. Elle commencera avec l'épisode 1 - Champion de l'Amour et de l'Espoir.

Je compte partager cette adaptation ici sur Patreon ainsi que sur des réseaux sociaux dédiés à la version française. La V.F. de chaque épisode sera partagée d'un coup après que l'épisode soit complété pour éviter le spam.

¡Excelente pregunta! Desafortunadamente, no hablo mucho español así que no puedo hacer una buena traducción.

Sin embargo, un miembro muy generoso de nuestra comunidad, Jorge Quino Miranda, decidió hacer él mismo la traducción al español de la serie.

Estoy muy agradecido por su iniciativa y planeo compartir (con su acuerdo) sus traducciones también del nuevo episodio 1 - Campeón del Amor y la Esperanza.

Lo siento si esta publicación no fue perfecta, tuve que pedirle ayuda al traductor de Google. 😅
