In the original rainbow flag design from 1978, the first stripe was pink and it was meant to represent sexuality.
As the model for pink, Sean stands for sex-positivism, healthy experimenting, and destigmatizing kinks and fetishes. For him, Pride is about being open-minded, embracing new things, and connecting with others in a safe environment.
So pink stands for sex, yes, but more importantly, it stands for connecting with one another, sharing joy with each other, and welcoming differences with open arms. Our sexuality is just one more way for us to celebrate who we are.
