[Bonus] Evolution of Eros (NSFW)
Added 2023-02-15 17:10:09 +0000 UTCI know I usually only do comparison posts like these for the character profiles, but I was very tempted to make one for Eros too because I think it's a good representation of both my improvement and the direction took Cabaret Bara into.
Obviously, I did push the design to be more "anime" and to fit more in the "magical boy" aspect of the comic. But I also wanted Eros to look more like he's the one who originated the faeries and the Ero Angels and I feel like that's a success. When you look at the humanoid versions of Chéri, King, and Záchari, I think they do have a bit of a family resemblance to Eros now. You may also notice that Eros's bow and Ero Lovely's bow are now both derived from the same design which I think appears more logical considering the boys use Eros's powers to fight.
On the more technical side of things, I'm also very pleased with the way I draw the "magical" wings now, I feel like it communicates much better the fact that the wings are not supposed to be plain physical wings. I also think my execution of the golden skin is better this time around and looks less like a glowing spray tan. I feel like the whole color palette is more coherent now too.
Anyway, redrawing something and looking back on the old version to see how much I've improved is a very comforting thing for me, so I hope you guys don't mind the self indulgence. New stuff is coming very soon.
