Shin's father is train him to be a professional detective that's what he means by "if he really is my son" but you misread it, that's called responsibility. Both fathers are s level in different ways, Shin's father is top on deduction skill and Heiji's father the power his position in police force. That's not "annoying" at all, that's the image has been given from the first episode when both fathers showed up.
