Updated Artwork - Angela
Added 2024-05-29 17:53:36 +0000 UTCWith some of the v0.1 artwork being a little rough, I'll be periodically going back and making some adjustments, or if they're unfixable, remaking them. I have no schedule for this, it's just going to be when I happen to get ahead of schedule and have some extra time, so I'll just be posting them whenever they're done. I'll be going back and updating the original art posts for the 1080p and 4k scenes rather than posting them in a new post. Mainly to cut down on cluttering the feed and to prevent any confusion. I'll make a post like this showing the new artwork in 720, and for those that want the higher quality versions, just check the collections to find the character. I wont be updating the version collections though, mainly because that would just be a giant pain, and the new artwork will be in the new version pack anyway.
Anyway, since Angela is likely the first character you see after the starters and are most likely to try and seduce her first, I decided to fix hers first (only character you can possibly run into first is Seika, but you can't get her scene right away and there's no way you're winning if you try to do her first). Both her character artwork and scene needed adjustments, so I did both.
Here's the new character CG.
Not too much was changed here. She was mainly just a little cross eyed, so I adjusted one of her eyes. Then I added just a little bit of extra shading to her keyhole cleavage. to help them pop a little more.
Here's the old version for comparison. Sometimes a small adjustment makes all the difference in taking something from "good enough", to "done".
I changed a lot in the scene though. Here's the new version.

To start, I made her eyes a little smaller to better match her character design. Then I modified the nose to be more rounded and a lot smaller and more subtle. It was weirdly pointy and didn't really fit with Angela's design, and didn't really fit the art style. It made sense with the reference and direction of the light, but I'm still learning what looks good and best fits the art style.
Then I also changed the face for the cumshot. It barely changed before and was kind of hard to tell it changed at all. So I exaggerated her expression a bit. They were relatively quick changes, and I think they make a big difference.
I could just fully remake all the scenes I don't like, but in the interest of time, I'm going to try and just make adjustments like this instead. Remaking a scene is a good 10+ hours, but making the changes to both the character CG and scene only took me about 2 hours. And a good chunk of that was reposting the artwork and making this post. There's definitely more adjustments I could make, but that would require a lot of redrawing and redoing rendering, and I'm trying not to obsess over the smaller details too much. I've noticed that when game devs start to really obsess over details, that's when delays and lackluster updates happen. And I really don't want that to happen. Being a 2D game, that could very very easily happen if I'm not careful too. A single scene could go from taking 10+ hours to make to 20+ or 30+ as I continually make adjustments and work on tiny details.
Anyway, Angela's character CG and scene artwork will be updated in v0.1.2. I hope you look forward to the updated scene in game!
