Meet Sandy - The First Hooker

Today I'll be introducing Sandy, the first hooker and the base design that all of the hookers in the game will have.

Let's just jump right in, and then if you're interested in more information, you can keep scrolling.


The plan is for there to be a hooker in every area. Well, every area that makes at least a little bit of sense. There isn't going to be one in the suburban neighborhood, or one in areas that are inside, like the Lab or the Hospital. But there's going to be one in areas like the apartment area (which is where Sandy will be) and downtown.

General Info on Hookers and Some Game Mechanics - 

Originally, every hooker was going to be completely different with entirely different scenes. But I ultimately decided against it. Instead, they're all going to be recolors of this design, and the same goes for their scenes. Partly to speed up workflow, but also for some other reasons. One is to keep people from feeling like they have to find and pay for every scene from every hooker. It would be a massive amount of money to do so, and would require a lot of boring grinding. Which I'm trying to prevent in the game. You always can grind if you want, but I don't want people to feel forced to. Instead, with the scenes all being the same, just with different recolors, you can kind of find and use your favorite. You can still go out and find all of them and see every variation if you'd like, because the colors can change something pretty drastically, but I'm hoping that's just something the more hardcore people want to do. Not something that feels mandatory.

As for why hookers are even in the game, you pay hookers for scenes, but you still get exp. You still go into battle, but they only have 1 hp every time. The current plan is to get 2 exp for every dollar you spend on a scene. That's the main reason they're in the game. To give people the option to trade money for exp, to speed up leveling if they want. The game works so that everything you do is linked to your HP, which is your stamina in the game. You battle and taking hits lowers your HP, and then the actual scenes take a certain amount of HP from you as well. The only way to recover your HP, is to go to sleep for the day. The idea is that you run out of HP, and are forced to move into another day. Different women will appear on different days. So I wanted to make sure people couldn't just stay on one day forever and never learn about how the world changes day to day. If you really just want someone who is on a specific day, you can just sleep 7 times until the week loops back around. Of course, the initial version will only have Monday, with other days coming with updates.

Anyway, since hookers are meant to exist primarily as a form of quick leveling, meant to just be used, their scenes are meant to be impersonal. The current plan is for their head to be slightly off screen, with a focus on their body instead. You'll basically see mouth down. I originally had the idea for the heads to be completely cut off, so that each hooker could have more varied designs, but I decided to just make them all the same. Even just creating new hairstyles would take time I'd rather not spend. Plus, I think having the full head out of frame is a little too weird. I think having the mouth/lips will help keep it sexy, without it getting too personal.

Sandy/Hooker Inspiration - 

Okay, now that the gameplay stuff is out of the way, on to the inspiration behind the design. Like I said before, every hooker was initially going to be different. There's currently only one in game, in the apartment area, and that version was based on a character from a CG set by an artist called Oneekyou. Warning now, if you look it up, it does have... age difference "virgin" boy content. Anyway, the CG set is called "A Present from KuroGal Santa" on DLSite. I called her Sandy Klaus in the game, because get it?

I didn't want all of the hookers to be based on this one design, so I went through a couple of different ideas. One thing I always wanted was the wet sort of latex look with the gloves and thigh high heels, so that was taken from this design. To me, that look just screams slutty, and that's what I want for a hooker. Then I initially was going to go with a more bimbo style design. So unnaturally big lips/boobs/butt. But I didn't really like it. It didn't feel right in this style and didn't feel like it fit. So instead, I went with a more pornstar inspired design. Fit with a very revealing outfit. As I was making it, I decided to add in the line around the mouth to make her look just a little bit older. Like this is a woman who is a real professional who has been doing this for a while. Slightly older and very experienced. Then for the initial version, I chose colors to match the original inspiration. Tan skin, red outfit, purple lips. 

Since this design is going to be popping up a lot, I wanted to make it a little more detailed than usual. I may have gone a little overboard though.

Variations When? - 

Since the hookers are mainly going to be copy pasta with variations, they'll be pretty easy to implement into the game. I'm still planning on just having the one in the initial version though, Sandy here. As a reward for unlocking the apartment area in the initial version. Since as of now, there's nothing else there. It would be kind of a slap in the face to make people pay for an apartment to unlock a new area, and have it just have variations of scenes available elsewhere. But more will be getting added into v0.2 for sure. As for what the variations will look like, I'm not sure yet. I played around with the character art and made 19 different versions so far, but the possibilities are endless. Maybe I'll do a poll to decide which ones get in the game. Something like I'll put them all up, and the top ones get into the game or something. Or maybe a poll for each skintype to ensure there's a good amount of variety.

And my favorite unnatural variation, with colors inspired by sexy Gruntilda.


Having an unnatural skin tone is for one of the storylines I have planned. Even then, it's anime, so it's not like it would be a big deal if there were some characters with unnatural skin tones anyway.
