Meet (?) The Teacher, Ms. Hartley!

For the few people who actually played Teach Me, Ms. Hartley should be familiar. She was the main heroine of the game. I'll start with the basic introduction, then explain what she's doing here.

Ms. Hartley is a teacher at your school. She always dresses very provocatively, and it's earned her a reputation among the students. There's even a rumor that she sleeps with students, but no one's been able to prove it of course.

Ms. Hartley really enjoys the attention her outfits bring her, and thoroughly enjoys teasing boys who are lusting after her. While many have tried to sleep with her, very few have succeeded. Unless you're a member of a certain exclusive club....

Ms. Hartley's Origins -

Since I'm sure most people reading this don't know, I originally started a project that I called the MMC Project, that was meant to be 4 interconnected games using VaM to create the scenes and characters. It started with a game called Holiday, and then continued in Teach Me. Unfortunately, the project didn't get any support. Even after releasing a full game with Holiday and two updates to Teach Me. All across the span of about a year. With no support, I decided to drop the project, assuming there just wasn't an audience for it.

But with Waifu Wonderland's open world design and addition of numerous characters, I thought it would be fun to bring in the MMC characters and kind of show what was going to happen at the end of the games. For the few people who did play those games. I don't want to completely ruin it, but the primary characters from those games will be appearing, like Mrs. Holiday. But I don't have plans to add in the side characters from Teach Me right now, like Leah. It's meant to take place after the events of the MMC games, so it doesn't make much sense for the side characters to be around. Anyway, since the MMC storyline is being added in an update, just Ms. Hartley will be appearing in the 0.1 version, and she's also the hardest fight currently in the game.

Here's Ms. Hartley's original design in VaM if you're curious. Since I didn't have to rely on specific assets anymore, I modified the design to be a bit sexier and more revealing. I also didn't want part of her face covered by her hair, so I modified her hairstyle a little bit too.

Who Ms. Hartley is Replacing -

Since I'm not adding anything new and just replacing CG right now, Ms. Hartley did have to replace someone. And I still want to give some attention to the artist who's work was originally in the game. Ms. Hartley is replacing a character from a CG set by Homare/Fool's Art Gallery. I called her "Kyoushi", since I can't read Japanese and I've never seen a translation of the CG set, I don't think she has a name. But she was a teacher, so I put her in the game as a teacher. Her vibe and everything matched Ms. Hartley pretty well, so I thought that would be a perfect place to slot her in. General Info -

That's another character portrait down, and now I'll be working on at least her first scene. She has 3 total, but I don't want to stop doing character designs to just do scene CG. I like alternating. It keeps it from feeling like I'm doing the same thing over and over. Oh yeah, I also did something different with this character portrait than I did before. Mainly to try and speed up the process. I can always go back and add it in for the full release if it's too obvious, and start doing it again for future characters.

Next character poll will be coming next week. This one will include rough sketches to better show what the characters will look like.
