Character Poll #1 Results - Meet Seika! The gyaru "roommate"

Technically the poll doesn't end for another day, but Seika is the only one with votes, and I finished up the starters, so I decided to just call it and start working on her. I think for the next poll, I'll include rough sketches instead of just the descriptions. That way people have a better idea of what they're voting for. Anyway, on to the introduction!

Seika is Ayako's daughter and your... roommate.

Seika doesn't really like you. She's annoyed that she still has to share a house with you, even though your dad isn't around anymore. Seika is extremely self-absorbed and sees men as tools to buy her things and pleasure her. Since you're broke, she knows you can't do anything for her and only puts up with you because she has to. Of course, you can always turn that around by getting a job and making some money.

Spoiler Section -

So yeah, Seika is pretty simple to get into seduction mode. You just have to buy her presents. I made sure to make it as obvious as possible that that's all you have to do in the game. The items you can give to her are even labeled something like, "a gyaru girl would like this." Depending on the present, you'll get a different scene. The more expensive the present, the better the scene. In the initial version, she'll only have the one scene. The presents will get more and more expensive, and you'll still have to battle her to get the scene. She gets harder and harder the more expensive the gift, so once there's more in the game, it's not a good idea to just buy all the gifts for her as soon as possible. It's better to spend that money on other things at first. Of course, the game is open, so you can buy the gifts right away and try to beat her before doing anything else if you really wanted to.

Seika's Inspiration -

Seika is inspired by Seika Kunisaki. Originally, the design was a lot more similar to the inspiration. It was a primarily black and white color scheme, I gave her some full arm gloves, and she had the more nude colored lips. But I didn't really like it, it didn't look gyaru enough to me. So I changed her clothes and lips to be more pink, removed the gloves, and then added the thong and hoop earrings. I'm mainly mentioning this because I had a full black outfit at the end, and for fun, I threw together a goth version, and I like it a lot.

I want to do something with this alternate design, I'm just not sure what yet. Maybe you can buy her a goth outfit for a scene? Or maybe Seika has a goth twin sister? Possibly when you first enter her room you decide if she's goth or gyaru? Not really sure which one to go with. I don't want to let this version go to waste though. Let me know if you have an opinion one way or the other, it would help a lot!

General Info -

I was originally going to have two character introduction posts, one public one with the basic introduction and public artwork, then another with essentially the spoiler section and below with the full quality character artwork. But I decided against that. I'm just going to keep doing full public posts like this for character introductions. I don't think people are really going to care about ridiculously large versions of character art, and I don't think an extra paragraph or two is really worth putting behind a paywall. Especially since it would be more work for me to have to put together two posts for every character.

Waifu Wonderland is going to have a LOT of characters. In the first version alone there's 32 characters. And the first version only has Monday (it will eventually have a full week with different characters and scenes each day), and only includes the initial areas, and only a small part of the apartment area. So I'll be making these posts fairly regularly. Most characters will only have one scene, but that's why I decided to go 2D. It makes it much easier to have a lot of variety. Since I have to draw a character and scene from scratch every time, it doesn't really matter if it's a new character or not. Unlike with 3D, which requires designing the character, then either compiling assets to create the character in 3D, or even modeling parts if something is unavailable, and then putting together the scene and rendering it out. It's a much longer process to make new characters, and a bit too much work for one-offs.

I'm currently working on Seika's first scene, it's almost done and will be posted in the next couple of days. I'm going to be sort of "going public" with this patreon soon, and start advertising it around to do different sites. I just wanted there to be some content in here first so people can actually see what they'll be getting, and have some content for patrons only so that it's actually worth it to jump in. I'm currently on vacation, so I've been doing as much as possible to get this up and running. I've got two more weeks off, but after Seika's scene is posted, I'm going to be staggering out releases a little bit to keep a constant flow of updates for as long as possible. I'll probably be doing one character and one scene each week.

For anyone here now, thanks for checking out the project so far! I'm able to see the number of people who see the posts, and knowing that I'm not just completely shouting into the void is a big motivator.

Anyway, I'm going to stop rambling now and get back to work.

Oh yeah, and Happy New Year!
